It is a little known fact that the council officers, often
seen with the Good Beer Guide tucked under one arm, are dedicated real ale
drinkers and will sniff out a likely watering hole
wherever they may be. On this page you will find beers that we have sampled at each event.
Weymouth - boat final 2005
Mine hosts at The Boot where most of these beers were tasted,
well worth a visit! |
Newquay - coarse final 2005
| All excellent beers from the Skinner's
Brewery, Truro. Tasted in their own pub the Skinner's Ale House in
Newquay. |
Rutland - game final 2005
| All superb beers brewed by the Grainstore
brewery in Oakham, Rutland. The brewery is next to the railway
station and the top two floors of the building are the actual
brewery whilst the ground floor is the bar. Brewery tours are
available, well worth a visit. |

This is Emma, one of the Grainstore's
lovely barmaids. She has been keenly waiting to see this picture, I
hope you approve Emma. Also here is a shot of Emma's shirt back
showing many other lovely ales. |

Liverpool - shore final 2005
| One pub not to be missed is The
Philharmonic in Hope Street. The Good Beer Guide describes it as
'probably the most ornate pub in England' a sight not to be missed
and they have good beers too! |
