It is a little known fact that the council officers, often seen with the Good Beer Guide tucked under one arm,  are dedicated real ale drinkers and will sniff out a likely watering hole wherever they may be. On this page you will find beers that we have sampled at each event.

Weymouth - boat final 2005

Ringwood Best Bitter  Nethergate Umbel Ale  Landlord and wife of The Boot Mine hosts at The Boot where most of these beers were tasted, well worth a visit!

All excellent beers from the Skinner's Brewery, Truro. Tasted in their own pub the Skinner's Ale House in Newquay. 

Rutland - game final 2005

All superb beers brewed by the Grainstore brewery in Oakham, Rutland. The brewery is next to the railway station and the top two floors of the building are the actual brewery whilst the ground floor is the bar. Brewery tours are available, well worth a visit.

One pub not to be missed is The Philharmonic in Hope Street. The Good Beer Guide describes it as 'probably the most ornate pub in England' a sight not to be missed and they have good beers too!

Since moving the final to August we have the added benefited of a beer festival run by Rutland Radio at the Grainstore Pub, featuring up to seventy real ales, cider and lager.
