The teams practiced hard prior to the match, some for two days and others for only one, and we were able to get a plan together as to which were the best lines, flies and areas to fish. 

The day of the match saw the wind shift from North West to North East but still fairly strong so the fish were still in the same locations but we still had to winkle them out.

Team captain was Nigel Evans. 

Seven people blanked on the day but I am happy to say that all our members weighed in and the A team took first place with a ten pounds lead over the second place. The B came a creditable 12th out of sixteen teams. Top individual angler was new CSSC member Peter Elliott who caught nine fish in the catch and release portion to give a narrow win by one pound.

This is the first time I have competed in this event and thoroughly enjoyed the whole experience. I recommend it to anyone looking to improve their competition fishing.
