Graham Water 7th June 2016 

Practice was limited to just one day due to a large competition at the weekend taking all available boats. Our four boats went out on the Monday and fished several different areas highlighted from the weekend match. We arranged to meet back at the pontoons at 13:30 and swap notes then went out again to check other areas. The weather was hot with a cloudless sky and a small North Easterly breeze and even that did not take away the feeling of sitting in front of an open oven. By the end of the day we were able to get a plan together as to which were the best lines, flies and areas to fish. 

Arriving at the water on the day of the match we were met with a flat calm and clear skies, it was forecast to cloud over later, which it did, and a breeze to develop, which did not happen. Plus someone turned the heat up and opened the oven door again!

The team consisted of Nigel Evans (captain), Lee Patten, Keiron Thomas, Geraint Thomas, Peter Elliott, Bart Farmer, Jim North and Chris Heyburn.
 Catches were not surprisingly poor but even so some people managed to to get eleven fish and one even the full limit of twelve. The A team took fourth place and Peter Elliott caught eleven fish to take second individual place.

We did finally get our hands on the trophy we won last year even if it had not been cleaned or engraved!

Next year's event will be at Grafham Water on Tuesday 6th June 2017.

Past experience at national or international level is considered almost a prerequisite and please bear in mind that you would be committing yourself to four days fishing, three practise days plus the actual competition. Also this would be at your own expense with very minimal funding from CSSC.
