Alan Riddell announced his retirement from the Angling Council after sixteen years service, which included establishing the game final, the cup actually bears his name (twice, as he pointed out in his farewell speech, as he won it once). Well known for his efforts with guitar and squeezebox plus impressions of Jethro, he serenaded us on the Wednesday evening with his banjo. The low attendance was probably due to the hotel bar prices!
