On a more somber note Mick
Knight from the Eastern region died suddenly of a heart
attack two weeks before he was due to compete in the final. Many
regular finalists will remember Mick's happy smiling face as he had
represented his region at numerous finals. A memorial plate in his
honour was presented by Neil Hind, Eastern region organiser and
Mick's regular finals partner, to Merion Scourfield from Wales for
the heaviest brown trout caught. Mick is on the left in the second
