2023 - Friday 25th October - Elliot beach, Arbroath.
It was a long way to travel, but this year's CSSC Shore final proved to be a very close affair with Elliot Beach, Arbroath proving to be a tricky venue with competitors fishing in 'A' section finding fish a little harder to find than those in 'C' Section, which also produced the top four individual winners.
Flounder and Dabs were the main target species, though some also found
small Bass in the surf and even the occasional Turbot, Plaice and Coalfish. Casting to
the horizon was not required either with some of the fish being found inside
the breakers in less than a foot of water.

Home base was at the excellent Carnoustie Golf Hotel and Spa where the staff and accommodation were absolutely first class.

Next year's final will be fished on - still to be decided.

year in advance and numbers are based on the regional teams that we know
will be taking part. If you want to bring your partner or make the event a
family holiday you must contact the angling council first, do not approach
the hotel.

Scoring is total number of position points, where first in zone gets
one point and last a possible eleven, ie. three zone wins would give a team total of
3. If a team has only two members then they will be credited 12 points for
the missing team member. No fish caught gets that competitor twelve
points.
